Parameter identification for vibration control of SCOLEA least-squares identification method has been used to derive an empirical model of the vibrational dynamics of the Spacecraft Control Laboratory Experiment, an apparatus for testing parameter identification and control schemes for large flexible space structures. Testing is performed by exciting the structure with torque wheels. Linear least-squares analysis is employed to obtain the parameters that best fit the output of an autoregressive model to the data, and to determine the control effectiveness of the torque wheels using the excitation portion of the test data.
