JPL realtime weather processor system developed for FAAModifications made to the Central Weather Processor (CWP) project are discussed. In 1987, the development plan was revised and the CWP was split into the following parts: a meteorological weather processor and a realtime weather processor (RWP). The JPL is in charge of RWP development. Consideration is given to the major product categories (NEXRAD products, alphanumeric weather products, binary encoded products, graphic products), and the system architecture (the individual radar processor, the radar mosaic processor, and the communication and control processor).
