Sintered Fiber ElectrodesMethod proposed to make improved porous electrodes for oxygen pumps, oxygen sensors, high-temperature solid-electrolyte fuel cells, and high-temperature solid-electrolyte electrolysis cells. Electrode made by sintering mat of conducting fibers. Many sintered bonds between intersecting fibers increase electrical conductivity and provide strength, yet allow mat to remain highly porous.
