An expert system to advise astronauts during experimentsWork being done on an expert system designed to improve the quality of space experimentation in vestibular physiology is described. Emphasis is given to two of the several modules of which the system architecture is composed: the Protocol Manager and the Interesting Data Filter. Some engineering issues related to human factors and to data acquisition and monitoring are also addressed.
