Transportation cost - Impacts on commercial usersThe potential impact of transportation price on the financial performance of space business ventures is analyzed. Business plans for generic space facilities (both STS based and free-flying), space processing, and communications satellite businesses were developed. Impacts were established parametrically for return on investment and customer product/service price as a function of transportation price. The following businesses were considered: communications satellite; shuttle based and free-flying space facilities; and space pharmaceuticals manufacturing and minilab leasing.
