Optomechanical design considerations in the development of the DDLT laser diode collimatorA laser diode collimator objective was developed in support of the Direct Detection Transceiver program. Close attention to optomechanical design issues including athermalization, alignment, selection of materials, mounting of elements, and hermetic sealing of the assembly was necessary to insure that the desired optical performance was maintained in space deployment.
