Several families of viscous optimized waveriders - A review of waverider research at the University of MarylandTheoretical and experimental research conducted by the Hypersonic Group at the University of Maryland in the area of viscous optimized waveriders is reviewed. In particular, the motivation for this class of waveriders is discussed, and results obtained to date are presented. Various waverider families generated from different flows and designed for different applications are examined, including waveriders using chemically reacting flow effects and very high altitude applications.
