High-Temperature Treatments For Polyimide/Graphite CompositeCombination of inert-gas heat treatment and coating with material impermeable by oxygen proposed to increase thermo-oxidative and high-temperature structural stabilities of composite materials made of graphite fibers in matrices of PMR-15 polyimide. Proposal directed toward development of lightweight matrix/fiber composites for use in aircraft engines, wherein composites exposed to maximum operating temperatures between 371 and 427 degrees C.
