Airborne Sodium and Rayleigh Lidar Observations from ALOHA-90Airborne Na and Rayleigh lidar observations from the Airborne Lidar and Observations of Hawaiian Airglow Campaign (ALOHA-90) campaign are described. We present gravity wave vertical and horizontal wave number spectra from the upper stratosphere and the upper mesosphere. Also, we document the occurrence of a large amplitude short horizontal scale quasi-monochromatic gravity wave event and discuss the implications of the event in light of recently developed gravity wave horizontal wave number spectra models. Finally, we discuss observations of sporadic Na layer events.
