Numerical simulations of space processing - The reality, the myth, and the futureThe present capabilities offered by the combination of advanced special and general purpose numerical codes and supercomputers are discussed. Emphasis is placed on unique demands placed by the space environment on the computation of realistic space experiments and recommendations for improving the scientific return on the space investment. It is concluded that numerical simulations can provide timely and relevant answers which can guide and improve future space experiments.
