Portable Computers as Companions in SpaceThe paper describes a Space Shuttle Program payload that uses a Macintosh portable computer to gather human performance data for a cursor control device experiment and to test prototype software applications for the Space Station Freedom (SSF). The payload is the first phase of a NASA research and development project to operationally test human-computer interface requirements and crew support applications for an advanced portable computer for the SSF.
