ULF waves in the outer magnetosphere of UranusULF waves are ubiquitous in the terrestrial magnetosphere, and play a critical role in the physics of the magnetosphere. A search for similar waves in the Uranian magnetosphere using Voyager 2 magnetometer data reveals ULF waves in the outer magnetosphere near the magnetopause. These waves decrease in amplitude with distance from the magnetopause. In the interior of the magnetosphere the wave level is at or below the noise level of the instrument.
