Computations Of Breakup Of A Capillary JetReport describes computations of breakup of round jet of liquid in gas or vacuum. Breakup occurs both spontaneously and when stimulated by vibrations giving rise to surface waves, some of which grow until drops pinch off. Study focusses on formation of satellite drops, taking advantage of advanced computers and computational methods to carry theoretical analysis beyond small-perturbation, linear regime.
