Sampling Particles In Hot Gas PlumesSampling darts and launching apparatus built to collect particles in vertical plume of hot gas. In original application, hot gas plume is rocket-engine exhaust during test firing. Dart passes made at various heights, depending on launch angle and launch-gas pressure. Adaptable to variety of terrestrial uses like research on particulate emissions of volcanoes or determining origin of building fire while still burning.
