Program Computes Dendrite-Settling VelocitiesDENDRIFT computer code calculates settling velocities of metal-alloy crystals of various shapes. Also calculates number of other parameters of interest such as volume and surface area of dendrite. Exploits concept of envelope around dendrite to enable calculation of effective sphericity. Program also used to estimate settling velocities of spheres and cylinders with hemispherical ends. Code useful as subprogram in comprehensive solidification/casting code. Concepts widely applicable in chemical-processing industry, helping describe settling or floating of precipitates and flocs. Written in FORTRAN 77.
