Clementine goes exploringIn early 1994, the US will once again place a spacecraft in lunar orbit. Popularly called Clementine, this spacecraft will spend about two months mapping the Moon and then will travel on to encounter the near-Earth asteroid, 1620 Geographos. A brief description of the historical development of the mission; the lunar survey; Clementine's payload, equipment, and capabilties; and the encounter with Geographos is presented.
