Compressor Case Made With Filaments Wound With V-CAP ResinLaminated cylindrical composite-material compressor case fabricated in process that includes winding of filaments wetted with matrix resins. Prototype of light-weight composite compressor cases required to withstand internal temperatures as high as 700 degrees F. Candidates for replacing titanium compressor cases in high-temperature turbines. Weights and costs reduced.
