Source regions of the solar windUsing Skylab XUV data, we examine some properties of the source regions of the solar wind. In particular, we discuss the physical nature of polar plumes and their relationship to the polar wind, the nature of the source regions of the slow solar wind, and the relationship between abundance anomalies (the FIP effect) determined from the Skylab data and the sources of fast and slow wind.
