On spurious bulk wave excitation in SAW grating reflectors on GaAs(001)(110)Reflection of SAW (surface acoustic waves) from groove gratings on a cubic crystal is analyzed numerically on the basis of perturbation theory. It is shown that for certain angles of incidence, the conversion of SAW into bulk waves vanishes. This reduces the SAW reflection loss from grating.
