Multi-Configuration and Aeroelastic Shape DesignThis presentation describes the advances being made with the Aerodynamic Shape Optimization (ASO) and high-fidelity Multidisciplinary Optimization (MDO) software used in the High Speed Research Program at NASA Ames Research Center. The description starts with the motivation for continued ASO/MDO development. Objectives of the current work are then presented. A list of ingredients deemed necessary for a flexible design environment is discussed, and the HSR requirement for different geometries at different design points is explained. Multiple design disciplines within a high-fidelity design environment are demonstrated. Finally, progress so far is summarized and planned future work is outlined.
