Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing at SDSM&TThe College of Earth Systems at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology established a Center for Remote Sensing to consolidate and coordinate the educational and research thrusts from different parts of campus into unified center with a focus on applications of remote sensing data in integrated environmental assessments. The threefold mission objectives of the Center are: 1) To educate students and the community in the principles and applications of remote sensing 2) To facilitate use of remote sensing in research coupling earth modeling, monitoring, and GIS 3) To distribute remote sensing data and expertise to regional federal, state, tribal, and local agencies.
