Global Vertical Roughness of Mars from Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter Pulse-Width MeasurementsThe global vertical roughness properties of Mars as measured by the Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MOLA) instrument aboard the Mars Global Surveyor is described. Initial results suggest that vertical roughness is correlated with major physiographic units, including portions of the crustal dichotomy.
