Orbital Space Plane Program Flight Demonstrators StatusUnder the Orbital Space Plane Program, NASA is currently pursuing the maturation of technologies via three flight demonstrators - DART (Demonstration of Autonomous Rendezvous Technology), X-37, and PAD (Pad Abort Demonstrator). Flight demonstrators provide the opportunity to test key technologies in their actual working environment. These flight demonstrators are required at this stage to mature technologies needed to support full-scale development design of a future competitively selected Orbital Space.
