Arabia and Memnonia Equatorial Regions with High Content of Water: Data from HEND/OdysseyAfter one martian year of neutron mapping measurements by the High Energy Neutron Detector (HEND) onboard the Mars Odyssey spacecraft, a map of the planet was produced showing the summer season in each hemisphere when winter deposition of CO2 on the surface is absent. The data for northern and southern poleward water-rich regions are presented. Here we discuss the HEND results for two equatorial regions, Arabia and Memnonia, which were found to be associated with a rather strong depression of epithermal and high energy neutrons.
