The HX/FIR correlation in the local universeThe XMM sources were completely reduced and analyzed, and in both cases provided non- detections of the targets. This is however not a null result, because it implies interesting upper limits on the presence of AGNs in these sources. Together with other X-ray observations of ULIRGs, these data provided an unbiased view of the hard X-ray emission of ULIRGs, which has several implications for the interpretation of the energy source of ULlRGs and their contribution to the X-ray background. The results were presented in several talks and international meetings, and are mentioned in a review on quasars and in a refereed paper on ULlRGs. They will also be used in a forthcoming publication on the X-ray properties of ULIRGs, for which we are collecting the data for the whole sample (several observations are becoming public in these months).
