Kinetics of FO2 with NO, NO2, O3, CH4, and C2H6The presence of fluorine containing compounds (e.g. HF and COF2) in the Earth's atmosphere is thought to be due solely to the decomposition of man-made chemicals such as chlorofluorocarbons and hydrofluorocarbons. The effect on atmosphere ozone of reactive fluorine-containing intermediates produced during CFC and HFC decomposition has attracted significant interest recently.
