Regionalized Temperature Variations in the Upper 400 km of the Earth's MantleTectonically regionalized variations in the temperature of the upper 400 km of the Earth's mantle are estimated from analysis of global seismic travel-time data catalogued by the International Seismological Centre (ISC). Seismic parameter profiles are determined from estimates of P and S velocities obtained by tau inversion, and summary phase diagrams for the olivine and pyroxene- garnet subsystems are constructed in conjunction with a thermodynamic potential formulation.
