Apparatus measures very small thrustsMeasurement of very small thrusts of an ion engine are made by mounting the engine on a platform supported by leaf springs which are loaded to have a zero spring constant. Measuring apparatus includes an inductive sensor, servo amplifier, and a counterthrust feedback system.
