The ground transmitter and receiverGround station equipment for the Telstar experiment includes a 6-kmc transmitter and a 4-kmc receiver used for television and telephone channels. This paper describes the over-all transmitting and receiving arrangements and presents detailed accounts of the RF and power-supply subsystems. Information is also presented on protection, control and equipment features, and on receiver noise performance.
