Segmented electrode increases operating pressure of MHD acceleratorCircumferentially segmented-ring electrode replaces the solid-ring electrode in a basic magnetohydrodynamic /MHD/ accelerator. This produces diffuse discharges at pressures as high as 100 atmospheres.
