Background of piloted simulator developmentIn this paper a review is made of the piloted simulation facilities commonly sued in the United States. An attempt is made to classify these facilities and to understand how and why these facilities are needed and came into being and how they are used. Some thought on the philosophy of use of simulation are offered and conclusions presented.
