Reinforced thermal-shock resistant ceramicsComposite material, made by dispersing short tungsten-rhenium fibers randomly throughout zirconium oxide, is highly resistant to oxidizing environments at temperatures above 2000 degrees F. This reinforced ceramic is also thermal stress resistant.
