High energy solar flare X-raysVery high energy X-rays-and by that I means X-rays with energies in excess of 100 kilovolts or so-are observed from the sun only during very large solar flares, and even then only for a very few minutes. Unlike the lower energy X-ray measurements you heard about a little bit earlier, which are essentially measures of the thermal nature of the emitting region, the very high energy X-rays are a direct reflection of the high energy electrons in the source region.
