Accidental Ignition in Propellant ProcessingSources of ignition during solid propellant processing are discussed in terms of the operations performed and the resultant hazard to facilities and personnel. The most serious ignition hazard in composite solid propellant processing occurs during the mixing operation where the sources for Ignition are greatest and the result of an ignition most catastrophic because of the state of subdivision of flammable material and its confinement.
