Photoionization mass spectrometerPhotoionization source with a vacuum UV monochromator is used in ion reaction kinetics. Monochromator passes only the photon energies near the threshold of the selected ionization process. Absence of electron impact alleviates creation of different type ions that result in ion fragmentation.
