Strain gage load measuring device - A conceptInstrumenting tape members of textile parachutes to determine load capability is accomplished by mounting strain-gage instrumented metal plates to the tape by stiff rubber pads. The pads permit gradual transfer of the load from the tape to the plates without stress concentrations in the tape.
