Directional coupler for optical waveguidesFeasibility study of transmitting optical energy in single mode through photonic waveguides results in a conceptual directional coupler consisting of two types of optical waveguides /a stratified /core/ dielectric and a mirror wall/. Waveguide medium analysis produced formulation of mode cutoff conditions, field distributions, and propagation characteristics.
