Liquid-hydrogen/nuclear-radiation resistant sealsSeal employs aromatic heterocyclic polymer, polyquinoxaline, and features resin starved laminate consisting of alternate layers of woven glass fabric and polymer film. Design gives gasket a mechanical spring characteristic, eliminating cold flow and resulting in elastic recovery when gasket is unloaded.
