Unusual cosmic ray intensity decrease of 18 December 1965A higher than normal ratio is reported for the decrease of cosmic ray intensity on 18 December 1965. This value was attributed to the depletion of a low rigidity electron component which also contributes to the counting rate of the IMP 3 detector. Significant difference is observed in the onset times recorded by the IMP 3 detector and Alert neutron monitor.
