Quiettime electron increasesThe IMP spacecraft monitoring of the behavior of cosmic rays in the interplanetary medium is considered, especially the behavior of 0.5 to 1.9 pj (3 to 12 MeV) interplanetary electrons. A cosmic ray phenomenon was detected in the behavior of these electrons, and a possible explanation for this phenomenon is presented, which, if correct, gives clues about interplanetary conditions far beyond the orbit of the earth.
