Stellar X-ray temporal variationsTwo separate theoretical models of X-ray sources were proposed, based on the premise that a pulsar can be hidden underneath a thick plasma cloud. The X-ray emission would come secondarily from the pulsar energy from the cloud underneath. Upper limits to the pulsed fraction for those conditions causing the most difficult detection of fluctuations are shown, along with power density and source of power spectra.
