The needs of the 80's - Data processing.

The potential observational needs requiring data processing are assessed for a projection of the large data processing systems needed to meet the requirements of meteorology, environmentology, earth resources inventories, and hydrology in the next decade. It is anticipated that a large array of space and ground sensing devices and basic communications capabilities for collecting and disseminating large volumes of data will be available by 1980.
