Aircraft noise sources - A review.Attempt to identify the main sources of noise in various types of power plants, and to indicate trends in design and operations that are beneficial in noise control. Information is presented for such noise sources as jet exhausts, fans, high-lift devices, and unducted rotors. It is shown that lower noise levels are generally associated with lower airfoil velocities and lower pressure ratios.
