Side and back lobe structures of directive antennas.Discussion of the present state of the art of low-noise antennas, and speculation about some future achievements that can be anticipated in the light of present trends. Attention is focused on major means of generating side lobes and techniques that may be used to obtain improved side lobe performance. Antennas with no side lobes are also considered.
