X-ray opaque additive for inspection of weld jointsThin coating of copper applied to each faying surface of aluminum-alloy improve X ray detection of welding defects. Copper may be applied by spraying, coating, or deposition. Its thickness of faying surfaces must be uniform in range. Coating must be free from spalling and blistering and must contain no porosity.
