Diagnostics of nonradially stratified mediaThe diagnostics of nonradially stratified media are presented. The analysis is applied to distributions lacking spherical symmetry. It is assumed that the medium is thin enough so that the ray remains rectilinear. The data to be used consists of the change in phase of a wave propagated along a ray due to the presence of the medium, for a given set of rays. Two dimensional and three dimensional distributions are considered.
