Progress in strapdown technologyAn overview is presented of typical inertial grade instrumentation available to mechanize precision strapdown attitude reference systems as well as a novel scheme of redundancy management, if two degree of freedom instruments are used. The instrumentation is divided between conventional and unconventional sensors with some assessment of their readiness included.
