Neutron stars.Particular attention is given to the physical concepts underlying neutron stars. The characteristics of an equation of state which is suitable for a neutron star configuration are discussed. Cold neutron star models are examined, including the properties of a particular model in the intermediate range of stable models. Questions regarding the thermal energy of a neutron star are discussed together with aspects of vibrational energy, rotational energy, magnetic energy, and problems in connection with the Vela pulsar.
