Comparative evaluation of solar, fission, fusion, and fossil energy resources. Part 4: Energy from fossil fuelsThe conversion of fossil-fired power plants now burning oil or gas to burn coal is discussed along with the relaxation of air quality standards and the development of coal gasification processes to insure a continued supply of gas from coal. The location of oil fields, refining areas, natural gas fields, and pipelines in the U.S. is shown.
