Summary of highlights of the symposiumOrganized studies to isolate the mechanism which might link solar activity to meteorological phenomena are outlined. The importance of relating meteorological and purely solar parameters is stressed, and the need for further satellite studies on the relation of solar sectors to interplanetary properties of the solar wind and magnetic field lines is emphasized.
